In the year of 1971 some of the cancer patients were taken as sample and they were treated under the vitamin C therapy. But the result was disappointing. Only after several failures it was been that repeated usage of the vitamin C resulted or the increased the positive aspects of the treatments. Research was perfumed on bladder cancer patients and it was found effective in women and not men. There are also some side effects like kidney stone that have been resulted in the high dosage of the vitamin C, yet these are highly rare cases. There is however a death occurred due to the intake of the vitamin C, but still the cancer was in the advanced stage for that particular patient. It is advised to increase the intake of vitamin c gradually similarly decrease in intake also should be done gradually. Vitamin E is also other substance which is efficient in combating the cancer cells.
Mechanisms of Vitamin C
Several researches where conducted and performed on the animals using the vitamin C and it was found that these have the capability to fight against the cancer cells and by preventing the mutation occurrence in the human body. Vitamin C is an excellent antioxidant that can fight the cancer cells by the stimulating the following actions in the human body. It fortifies the immune system by increasing the production of the lymphocyte. It salvages the cellular free radical damage. The third action that performs is it prevents the spreading of the tumor to the other regions of the human body by inhibiting hyaluronidase. It rectifies the acrobat deficiency which is commonly found in the cancer patients. It neutralizes the carcinogenic toxins and increases the hydrogen peroxide and free radical generation in cancer cells under the high iron environment. These are some of the efficient mechanisms that are induced in the human body by the Vitamin C antioxidant to fight against the cancer cells.
Vitamin C
Animals have the capability to stimulate the vitamin C on their own whereas humans do not. Vitamin C is a water soluble antioxidant which is commonly found in the rose, apple and citrus. Only few decades back the efficacy of tis compound was brought into the medical sciences and of course earlier it was used in high dosages to treat the cancer cells. The role of the antioxidant in relation with fighting the cancer cells is predominant and it has also been proven that people with proper diet had very small chances of developing the cancer cells. Vitamin C in high dosage has the capability of fighting the cancer cells by stimulating the immune system; prevent the formation of carcinogenic effects. These functions obviously help in fighting against the cancer cells. Although people consume fruits yet the required amount of the vitamin C is not acquired and henceforth some of the additional treatments are required to maintain the level of adequacy.
Beta carotene
It is one of the antioxidant that is used in the treatment of the cancer cells. This is a non-toxic form of vitamin but can be toxic when taken in high dosage. When this is been given to the patients it boosts or stimulates the immunity system of the human body which in turn helps to fight against the cancer cells. This also prevents the formation of the free radicals in the human ecosystem which can cause the growth of the cancer cells. Several researches where conducted on the usage of the carotene and it was found that the people who have less carotene in their body are more prone to the risk of cancer. Also the study on women with high breast tissue concentrations has the risk of getting the breast cancer. The reason behind the efficacy of the beta carotene is that it stimulates the immune system which helps to fight against the cancer cell more effectively.
Introduction
Antioxidants are the naturally occurring substances that are used in combination in the human body to treat against the cancer cells. It is been described about the omission of certain antioxidants due to its dangerous properties; similarly the positive sides of the antioxidants are also described. Antioxidants are non-toxic substance and they work in the human ecosystem as a team. Each antioxidant is dependent of the other one and moreover in some cases they are inefficient when used individually. It is in the hands of the oncologists who treat the patient to determine the type of the nutrients that are required for the patients and the level of dosage that should be imposed on the patients. These two are most important factor as they are directly linked with the efficiency of the treatments. Although antioxidant are existing in this world for several decades still lot of the factors are undetermined about the antioxidants.
